I Am Every Hopeless Nation

When you see everything around you,
And what the world has now come to,
Does it not hurt or sting?
The struggle of your fellow beings.
In this time of injustices increase,
I am every lone beast.

I am every innocent prisoner, the ones who have no listener.
I am every torn and broken home, those whose inhabitants, on this earth no longer roam.
I am every lifeless body; their only crime was for freedom they tried to lobby.
I am every rock throwing hand, those with each move, liberty demand.
I am all burdened shoulders, for others gains are made to carry boulders.
I am every wise old, who is, for outliving his children, consoled.
I am every belly starved, for whom meals are skipped, a fast observed.
I am every shaking limb, whose muscles… filled with fear to the brim.
I am every robbed needy, put in this state by the greedy.
I am every acquired land, mutilated by tanks tyrants manned.
I am every wounded fighter, I am every rebellious writer.

I am every sobbing mother, the one who daily looses another.
I am every widowed wife, whose husband was snatched of his right to life.
I am every orphaned child, whose last memory was how they smiled.
I am every striving boy, for whom a foreign concept is that of joy.
I am every courageous youth, dedicated to preach the truth.
I am every tearing eye, as by vile beings they are forced to comply.
I am Somali, Syrian, Palestinian,
I am Egyptian, Sudanese, Tunisian,
I am Malaysian, Iraqi, Libyan,
I am Yemeni, Moroccan, and Algerian.
I am every hopeful being,
The songs of freedom those who hope to sing.
I feel my fellow creation,
I am every hopeless nation.

A Crown Tall

The gentle touch that calms a storm,
The strong cement that build a home,
The weight of this, words fail to confirm,
It is a power with the ability to transform,
Motherhoods embrace ever so warm.

The steady hands, the world they mold,
The steel exterior, but interior…pure gold,
The capacity of this, tons it can withhold,
It is a praise significantly untold,
Motherhoods glories behold.

The generous love, it sees no season,
The trust lain, the extent beyond reason,
The sail to this is more than uneven,
Yet its dedication, its cohesion,
Motherhood, a journey till life’s completion.

The mother that gave us Husayn and Hasan,
The daughter of the Prophet, the Holy one,
Her rank cannot come undone,
It is amongst the Ladies of Light, one,
Motherhoods teacher today is born.

So today all children young and grown,
For all the times you sighed and moaned,
To your mistakes own,
Regret today should be shown.
Motherhoods worth, should be known.

And then to paradise fall,
Under her feet it lays after all,
Thank her for everything, big or small,
For all she did before you could walk, before you could crawl,
Motherhood above all, deserves a crown tall.

Dedicated to: The most loving, caring, sacrificing and BEAUTIFUL  mother, My mother, Sabira Kermali.

Love you Mom. Distance is just miles, miles my love travels day and night. <3

The Mother of her Sons No More (Umm Al Banin)

A lioness lost her young,
A mother lost her sons,
“Mother of her sons no more”
Faatima said amidst ache and sorrow.

She wished for a sooner informer,
Of the news that absolutely tore her,
The fall of Abbas The Warrior,
Without his hands, without a barrier,
I say, I say, no courier,
Could ever relay a story this superior.

That which feels cannot understand,
That which cries cannot make tears end,
What must it be in a mother’s mind?
To hear her sons sleep on dessert sand,
Knowing, to their wounds there was none to tend,
They now lay on a far away land.

What is that mother’s day?
When every day is more than her sons stay,
Their tragedy on her persistently weighs,
And as time turns, so does her hair, to grey.
Till today, until today,
When to her sons and Lord, she makes her way.

The Tree of Abbas

What is womb which bore Abbas?
What is that chest that soothed Abbas?
What is that embrace that composed Abbas?
What is that heart, filled with, love of Abbas?

What is that grip that held his hands?
Those same hands that were severed in Iraq’s scorching lands.
What is that devotion that taught him loyalty?
Because of which he wouldn’t drink till his master was no longer thirsty.
What is that upbringing that watered his conviction?
The conviction that wouldn’t waiver in the extremity of tribulation.
What is that modesty that made him a slave?
To those who’s due, the misguided never gave.

What is that strength that groomed Abbas?
What is that protector who sacrificed Abbas?
What is holy if not the tree to the fruit, Abbas?
What is holy if not Ummul Baneen the mother of Abbas?

The Constant

A constant of Stares follow,
The look of covering the wide and narrow.
With every step, every room,
Every ride, looks of gloom,
As if they worry they will meet their doom.

A constant of judgments follow,
They think I cause sorrow.
Those loyal to me I only swear to protect,
Yet too many from me usually deflect,
I believe... That... they will one day regret.

A constant of whispers follow,
I am not a burden, in fact from me you should borrow.
One with my companion I become,
Trials and turbulence together we overcome,
But only recently we are mistaken for fearsome.

A constant of support I present,
Yet you never fail to resent.
Constantly you have set me aside!
I am your Hijab. The one you denied.
Because of you I lose my pride.
And with God’s word you continually collide,
But be sure, on the Day of Days you WILL be tried.
And on that day you’ll wish you had chosen to abide.

Deep Within

We are humans, bound to make mistakes. What lets us know that we are making amends is regret and the acceptance of failure in the first place. Then... we just put our faith in Him. We are humans, bound to make mistakes. He is the Most Merciful, bound to forgive.
I looked to myself, looked deep within,
I questioned myself, and was forced to give in.
I realized then, what I was and who I had become.
I wondered how had this day had ever come?
When to look to myself, to look deep within,
It shamed me, maimed me, like a wound through my skin.
And now I hope and pray to Him,
That His forgiveness wipes my sin.
For in this state, I would fail to look to myself.
To ever look deep within

Not Alone

Lyrics to a heartfelt original song

Have you ever felt like you were all alone,
with no one to turn to?
I certainly have….

Lost in a sea of tears,
Unwanted in a swarm of loved ones,
Shadowed amidst rays of light,
Disheartened, unheard of, just… sad.

Dumb in a flow of noise,
Deflated in a wave of joyousness,
Repulsive in a pool of purity,
Wounded through and through

Know, Know that you are not alone,
Know, Know that he is watching over you,
Know that, belive that, wipe that frown and turn it upside down
Because you are not alone.
He’s watching over you

Mortal in a line of gods,
Discarded in a pile of jewels,
Foul within stacks of worth,
Hanging out to dry

Know, Know that you are not alone,
Know, Know that he is protecting at you
Know that, Believe that, cry those tears they’ve been boiling for years
Because you are not alone
He is protecting you

Weak in a surge of strength,
Scared in an army of Warriors,
Small in a tribe of Giants,
Afraid to let them down

Know, Know that you are not alone,
Know, Know that hes smiling down at you
Know that, Believe that, Go ahead now knock em dead
Because you are not alone
He is smiling down at you

No, You are not alone,
hes smiling,
hes Protecting,
and Watching over you
So, Know that, and believe that you are not alone
That you are not alone

So, have you ever felt like you were all alone,
with no one to turn to?
I  have...

and then I realised, hey,
I am not alone.
